Qatar Insurance Company (QIC), Qatar’s flagship insurer partnered with MEED’s Qatar Projects 2015 as a sponsor. The two-day conference, which was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Doha, commenced from 10th March. The conference set the scene at a time when Qatar’s infrastructure projects are set to escalate to more than USD 30 billion in 2015.

The conference featured high-profile keynote speakers, who presented and discussed critical business information and latest industry news from Qatar and the GCC, as well as future project opportunities and master plans that lie ahead. Topics covered in the conference included the latest developments in the national development strategy, trends and opportunities in the banking and finance sector, and news about Qatar’s latest energy and infrastructure projects.

Speaking on this important partnership, Senior Deputy Group President and CEO of QIC Group, Mr. Ali Al Fadala said, “We are delighted to sponsor MEED’s Qatar Projects 2015 as the forum plays a pivotal role in bringing together Government representatives, key project owners, developers, consultants, financiers and business leaders to discuss the immense potential for businesses in infrastructure development in Qatar in line with delivering Qatar National Vision 2030 and its strategic priorities. The conference also reflects the investment opportunities in Qatar that makes the country one of the most attractive markets for doing business in the GCC and the MENA region.”

He added, “With Qatar’s projects market experiencing a boom in infrastructure, energy and construction, including the most extensive urban railway network, QIC has the capacity and underwriting expertise to handle the insurance requirements related to USD 200 billion infrastructure developments planned for the next ten years.”
